The E275 is a machine tap for producing unified coarse threads (UNC) and comes in sizes from 5/16 of an inch to one and a half inches. It is manufactured from powder metal High Speed cobalt for longer tool life and better performance. Conforming to the German Institute for Standardization, the E275 also has a bright finish to prevent work piece material from sticking to the cutting edges of the tool, so producing cleaner, more accurate threads. The straight flute design means the tap can be used for threading both holes which stop part way through the work piece and also holes which go all the way through the work piece. The E275 is a very versatile tap and can be used to produce threads in a wide range of materials including steels, aluminium and stainless steel.
